Confirmed: Man United announce midfielder switch

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern have been expecting big things from Adnan Januzaj for a while now…

Hyped to the moon as a teenager, the Belgian emerged as a first-team player during the 2013/14 season – making an impressive 15 Premier League starts throughout the course of the campaign.

That proved to be his peak at Man Utd, though, with his game time falling dramatically in the years to come. He made just 7 starts in the 2014/15 season, and just 2 the year after. It has been a downwards spiral for Januzaj since his arrival – and now his time at Man Utd has come to an end.

As confirmed on the official Man Utd Twitter, Januzaj has left the Red Devils in favour of a switch to Real Sociedad.

A disappointing season on loan at Sunderland last season was, in many ways, the final nail in the coffin for Januzaj – with 18 Premier League appearances in the Black Cats’ midfield not enough to impress Mourinho.

Still, at 22-years-old, there is still time for the Belgian to develop. At his new club, he will likely be given far more of a chance in the first team, and if he can regain the form that he had a few years ago – he still has every chance of reaching his potential.

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that he excels at his new club, as they would love to see him return to Old Trafford in the future.

Man Utd fans – thoughts?
