Attacks not by Boko Haram, Fulani

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has visited St Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu to condole with families of those who were shot dead by gunmen in the early hours of yesterday.

The governor, who went to Ozubulu in company of the state Commissioner of Police and other security chiefs in the state allayed the fears of the people that gathered in the church that the morning attack was neither Boko Haram attack nor Fulani herdsmen onslaught.

He said it was a matter of business misunderstanding between two sons of the area who are not resident in the country. He, however, said that the security organisations are on top of the situation and that people should go about their lawful businesses without further fear.

Obiano also visited the injured who are still receiving treatment at NAUTH in Nnewi, where he prayed for their quick recovery.

The senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, Senator Andy Ubah, has also paid a sympathy visit to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital to sympathise the injured.

As at the time of filing this report, the hospital has become like a tourist centre as people still troop in to behold those that were lucky to escape the bullets of the gunmen who took the church by storm.
