Nigerian Parties 3 things to always avoid as a wedding guest
Going for a wedding soon? Here are things to avoid so you don't get labelled a bad guest.
Weddings are gatherings of fun, and especially in Nigeria, there aren't many strict restraining codes guiding the event.
Go
to the venue of the wedding, celebrate with the couple, enjoy yourself
and leave without any fuss. That's the way to go about it.
There are things you should not do as a wedding guest and here are three of those things.
White dress? Don't do it!
This is particularly important for women.
Do not wear a white dress. Let all attention of the day be left for the bride and her groom.
They are the ones everyone came for.
Uninvited guest
This
might seem absurd given hoe Nigerian weddings are usually 'free for
all' affairs where the guest list is not really controlled.
Wedding proposal? No!
This is a trend that seems to be spreading and it really is not cool.
Anything that upstages the bride and groom on their big day is not a good idea.
That wedding you are attending is not the best time to propose.
While
some would say there is no problem if you ask the couple and get their
consent before doing it, we say, why not avoid it altogether?
There are surely other ways and places to propose, right?
Leave that day for the couple to enjoy.
As
a form of conclusion, it is also advisable not to get too drunk, start a
fight or get involved in a disruptive brawl/fight at someone's wedding.
Do not let the couple remember you for life as the man/woman they wish never came for their wedding ceremony.
