A 76-year-old woman and her daughter have been arrested in Uganda with heroin worth Sh3bn.

A 76-year-old Nigerian woman and her daughter have been arrested by the police at the Entebbe International airport for being in possession of 10kgs of heroin reportedly worth Shs3 billion.

The suspects identified as Aniugo Agnes Egonna, and her daughter, Aniugo Gloria Vera, 35, were arrested during an attempt to leave the country for Lagos state, Nigeria, Instablog9ja reports.
While parading the suspects, the spokesperson for the Kampala metropolitan police, Emilian Kayima, said:
“The duo arrived in the country on the November 20. Ms Vera had 5kgs of heroin and the mother also had 5kgs heroin, that they had concealed in their luggage bags."
Mr Kayima also revealed that the pair claimed to have come to Uganda to attend their son/brother's introduction ceremony which reportedly took place last week.
The suspects will be arraigned in court following the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.
