SWA - The Great Commission

Text: Matthew  28:18-20, Mark 16:14-20, Acts 1:4-8

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 28:19
"Go yesterday therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father"

INTRODUCTION:
The great commission is one of the most significant passage in the Holy Scripture. Firstly, it is the last recorded instruction given by Jesus Christ to his disciples. Secondly, it is a special calling from Jesus Christ to all his followers to take specific action while on this earth.

LESSON:
The great commission is the end of the gospel and the beginning of faith in action for all Christians. In verse 19 of Matthew 28, Jesus said to his disciples "to go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. " Jesus calls all his followers to act and share the good news of salvation throughout the world.

Christans are instructed to teach others about Jesus Christ and the entirety of his truth. We can't profess Christ as our Lord and Savior, while rejecting certain of his teachings. We can't say we are believers and we don't obey Christ teaching in this great commission. Jesus calls every believer to step out in faith and preach the gospel of Christ, which is good news.

Spreading the good news is putting your faith in action. It could be spending the good news to a neighbor, it could be down the street or anywhere.

CONCLUSION:
Every faithful Christan is compelled through obedience to share the Gospel of Christ, which is the good news.
